Endocrine refers to the secretion of hormones into the body; the pituitary gland, thyroid, pancreas, adrenal gland, ovaries, and testicles are representative endocrine organs. Endocrine-metabolism refers to a disease in which hormones secreted by these endocrine organs are increased or decreased compared to normal levels.

Endocrinology treats endocrine-related diseases, such as osteoporosis, hyperlipidemia, thyroid dysfunction, thyroid nodules, pituitary, and adrenal diseases, primarily diabetes, a chronic disease.
