Our department is one of the most advanced clinical and research departments in a 600-bed Kangwon National University hospital composed of main hospital, cancer center and children´s hospital. In clinically, we perform digital plain radiography, fluoroscopy, digital mammography, computed tomography of 64-channel dual detector, and biplane angiography with the use of radiation and iodine contrast; ultrasonography using ultrasonic wave; magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) using 1.5T and 3.0T equipment. In research field, our department run the neuroimaging laboratory to research the advanced neuroimaging related to dementia and other neurologic and neuropsychiatric diseases.

The major roles of our department are to participate in the clinical process for accurate diagnosis of various benign and malignant diseases using the described imaging modalities and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and to perform image guided procedures for achieving less invasive diagnosis and treatment of human disease.
