The Department of Emergency Medicine was established in 2001. Since 2003, we have been running a medical residency program to train skilled Emergency Medicine Specialists.

Ever since its establishment, the Kangwon National University Hospital Emergency Center has provided the best quality emergency medical service in Chuncheon, claiming the title of the representative emergency center in the Chuncheon region. In 2008, the center was promoted to a local emergency medical center, laying the foundation for better emergency medical services for patients.

Emergency care services of KNU Emergency Center is provided by a team of professional and experienced emergency specialists, nurses, and high-end medical devices that support them. The Department of Emergency Medicine and its employees including emergency medicine professors, emergency physician, nurses, and paramedics are committed to conducting the duty assigned to the only national university hospital emergency center in Chuncheon, which is to educate students into experienced professionals as an education and research-oriented university institution.
